Sealdah Jalpaiguri Road Humsafar Express starts its journey today
Good news for the passengers of North Bengal. The Indian Railways has announced the launch of a new weekly train service between Sealdah Jalpaiguri Road, aimed at enhancing connectivity between South and North Bengal. This new route will operate via the recently inaugurated Nashipur rail bridge over the Bhagirathi River, marking a significant step in improving regional rail infrastructure, according to an official statement.
The Sealdah Humsafar Express starts its journey today. It will leave Jalpaiguri Road at 2 p.m. The passengers of North Bengal are happy after getting a new train.
Railway officials will officially inaugurate the train from Jalpaiguri Road this afternoon. According to official source this special train will leave Jalpaiguri Road at 2 pm today and the train will reach Sealdah by 4 am tomorrow (Jalpaiguri-Sealdah). The train will run on regular basis from June 20. Train number 13115, the Sealdah–Jalpaiguri Road Humsafar Express, will depart from Sealdah every Friday at 11:40 p.m. and arrive at Jalpaiguri Road by noon the next day. On the return journey, train number 13116 will leave Jalpaiguri Road every Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and reach Sealdah at 8:10 a.m. the following morning.
The railways said that the train has 22 coaches. The 584-km journey will originate from Jalpaiguri Road and will have stoppages at NJP, Aluabari Road, Kishanganj, Barsoi Junction, Shamsi, Malda Town, New Farakka, Jangipur Road, Azimganj Junction, Berhampur Court, Krishnanagar City Junction, Ranaghat Junction, Naihati and will reach Sealdah at 4 am.
